Mom is the most important soul on earth to me...Where to begin with writing a memorial letter about her??? I LOVE her, my dearest friend, listener, comforter, wisdom and the Love of my life! Next to Jesus Christ, I don't know who has a more profound impact on my well-being, on my sense of existence. I Love Mom more than anything or anyone on earth! She has always been my soul mate, my touchstone to all that matters in life. I thank her for always pointing me to my relationship to God and His Son, Jesus Christ. She has always been a very beautiful soul and woman, an amazing role model. I Love you, Mom!!! Life is short...Let your loved ones know how you feel about them today!

Up all night with sleet pelting the roof and windows, watching the weather and the news out of Egypt... the blowing snow was impressive to this southern girl!! And the situation in Egypt warranted a storm to get my attention. I was praying on Monday, and I continue to pray tonight for SANITY and Peace of Christ to bring people to unity and mutual concern for one another rather than war! Come quickly Lord Jesus Christ!

From the Back of My Horse

Temple, my 1st very own horse, an American Paint mare, registered from her ancestors dating back to the 1600's, to the time of my Edinburgh, Scotland ancestors, was my pride and joy, if only for a short time.

After a great fall from a bareback stand-still to a sudden trot from atop my sweet Temple, I found myself in excruciating pain and strapped to a hospital bed in the Muskogee, Oklahoma, Regional Medical Center ICU. I had been medicated to a drug-induced coma with a breathing tube, ventilator, feeding tube and even a chest tube to my collapsed right lung to keep me alive! My reality had entered a whole new realm...

"Mild linear bibasilar opacities representing atelectasis are identified and there is a small, approximate 10-20% right apical pneumothorax. Mildly displaced fractures of lateral right rib 3 as well as posterior anterior right ribs 6 and 7 and posterior right rib 8 are identified."

Now, I am awaiting the arrival of this beautiful, LeRoy-Neiman painted horse to help fill the gap left from my fall from and sale of my awesome Temple.

A great fall...

"Fell off Temple & broke 3 ribs, etc...!!!!"

June 30 at 2:46am via Facebook for iPhone

It was pretty muddy out, so I had on my mud slickers & was just walkin' bareback on Temple at twilight when she decided to hop into a gallop, & I slid right off!!!! Man! What a landing! And quite a wake up call! :^(
'Spent 1 week in ICU with 4 broken ribs and a collapsed lung and another week in the hospital taking breathing treatments and letting those ribs mend. Then John and Karen, my brother and sis-in-law, took me home to see my dogs and cat and get my stuff to stay with them in Tulsa for a few more days of recovery.
I came home Sunday, July 11th, and now I'm back to work as of Monday, July 19, and so thankful to be here.
I'm disappointed to have to give up my horse, but "to everything there is a time and a season..." A lot of people were praying for me, and I thank God for each of you and for His plan for our days.

Supply a Burmese Village Clinic

Report from the Field
On May 9, 2008, GreaterGood.org wired $27,000 to Foundation for the People of Burma (FPB) to support relief efforts. FPB is working in the outskirts of Rangoon, supplying rice & beans, clean water and portable toilets for the makeshift camps that have begun to spring up in the area. They also have rented a boat to make a dangerous 12-hour trip from Rangoon to assist the most inaccessible victims of the storm. The boat is carrying volunteers, food, construction materials, water, and sanitation kits.

On May 8, Burmese FPB employees traveled 3 hours southwest of Rangoon to an Irrawaddy Delta community of 400 destroyed households. "We found families attempting to live in the rubble of their homes. Today we were able to provide rice, beans, oral rehydration solution, and chlorine tablets, but they badly need buckets and construction materials before the coming rainy season."
