I'm going to a birthday party for a friend who's turning 40 today... I'm not much a party girl, but, God knows, I need to be with friends more. I remember turning fourty, and it was a wonderful party with a house-full of friends. So that's what it's all about, friends who you love and who love you. What better gift than that?

Ambrosia
Oranges, grated coconut, and cherries; ambrosia was a dessert salad my mom made that I loved as a child. Ambrosia is the name I gave my pet Indian ringneck parakeet. I enjoyed having her for 9 years before she flew away because I hadn't kept her wings clipped and had her outside with me. That was the summer I let my husband fly away as well. He came back, tho'.
